Night storage heaters have been the classic application example of an electrically powered heating - in the 1950s and 1960s electricity suppliers were interested in them to achieve a uniform use of their power plants and offered the convenience of an oil or gas heating at a subsidized price of electricity. Given rising energy costs, the discontinuation of state subsidies and the ecological energy change of today they have survived for years.
Through the development of modern and environmentally friendly infrared heating systems, the conditions for heating with electricity have changed fundamentally. An evolutionary infrared heating from REDPUR provides healthy spa heat, protects the environment and the financial resources of their users due to its high efficiency, minimum power loss and low power consumption, and protects the building from moisture by heating the room surfaces or the "building shell". A REDPUR infrared heater is the most cost effective and environmentally best alternative not only compared to a night storage heater, but also to all other conventional heating systems.
Night storage heaters "eat" a particularly high amount of energy - they only convert 33 percent of the electrical energy supplied to them into heat. The remaining 60 percent, however, are a cost factor as well as pointless waste of energy with the resulting environmental impact. A large part of night storage heaters operating in Germany have to be switched off from 2020. The power supply of the previous night storage heater can be used for their connection. The operation of the infrared heating from REDPUR is from then on maintenance free and involves no additional cost. Night storage heaters as well as all other conventional heaters heat as convection heaters the air. During the "transport" of the heat a large proportion of the heat energy is wasted. An infrared heating from REDPUR in contrast heats the room by means of its electromagnetic radiation, the energy is stored by room surfaces and objects, and is emitted as a uniform heat radiation. The room air is heated only indirectly and thus in an energy neutral way. The building structure is protected too through the heat absorption of the surfaces - wet spots or mould can not occur when using an infrared heating from REDPUR, the walls of older buildings are dried up by the technological principle of the heating in the long term.
In ecological terms, the infrared heating systems from REDPUR prove unbeatable - they operate without emissions and electromagnetic pollution. In conjunction with a decentralized energy supply by solar or wind power they are the cleanest, most energy efficient and most environmentally friendly heating solution. The often generally critical issue of "heating with electricity" does not matter in the context of REDPUR infrared heaters. The REDPUR systems consume significantly less energy than electric night storage heaters or other electricity powered systems. Although oil and gas systems use only about 35 percent of the electricity of the infrared heating from REDPUR, they must also be operated with the respective fossil fuels.
